c# - Server-side paging -


can have general idea of server-side paging? steps? working on silverlight datagrid , requirement use server-side paging. did google stumbled, reason being advance information in every article newbie me. of them used wcf ria services have no idea. need know how server side paging , if guide in silverlight scenario great.

the idea send no of records/page,order by/sorting,page no parameter stored procedure , bind results of pagedcollection datagrid source.

server side, means works on server or works @ computer iis installed. client side means works in browser. if speak architecture xaml, , it's .cs code , related silverlight part compiled .xap file , executed in browser, silverlight plugin - it's client-side. server side paging means need make c# code on server, return requested page. example have 160 records, , @ single page want show 10 records. without server side paging each time give client ( or works in browser ) 160 records, , silverlight filter 10 records. server side paging you'll return 10 records, , silverlight part need show number of page , records itself.
