osx - java embedded OS X Applications VS System installed Java -
if mac os x computer have instaled java ( 6 - 7 - both ??? ) & application (from appstore) has java ( 6 - 7 ??? ) embedded, system used systemwide installed or embedded java ?
why ask, have 10 apps embedded java running @ same time & have system installed java, java running once or 11 times ?
so if have use many java applications, should build/install them embedded java or should install java on system ?
if applications expect/need java 6 & other java 7, can install both (see below) ?
- mac os x used come multiple java versions installed, provided apple, , application control java version used when or app. application removed apple java 6 & both java's 6 -7 different providers (apple & oracle) & have enough different approaches each other make me wonder if can still coexist -
java has run once per application. in process list there @ least 1 java process each application.
you can install both java 6 , java 7 (and depending on os earlier versions although not know come from) , java 8 development versions. see
the application in info.plist tells java use.
