asp.net mvc - How to determine if using MVC4 vs MVC5 vs MVC6? -
i keep seeing articles mvc6, i'm bit confused... mvc5 isn't released, it? have in vs2015 option download , use rc 1 of mvc5, haven't done because until it's released, we're not using 1 our production apps. why there many articles , questions converting mvc6? shouldn't worried converting mvc5 whenever (if) gets released?
supposedly considers question of opinion, here re-worded question:
when create new mvc app in vs2015, shown templates mvc little 4 in top right corner of icon. mvc4 or mvc5? i've created lots of projects using icon, , none of them include startup.cs, they're global.asax... thought mvc5 supposed built on owin , uses startup.cs? if indeed mvc5, little 4 represent? how 1 know , determine version of they're using?
yes, mvc5 has been out quite time. since 2013.
the asp.net version number , mvc version number not in sync. visual studio offering download asp.net 5, not mvc 5. mvc 6 runs on top of asp.net 5, has been renamed asp.net core 1.0.
