can difference between classification , segmentation in data mining tasks? can segmentation classification task when objects costumers , dividing criterias relevant marketing? segmentation sub-group of classification?

segmentation methods divide unit (be text unit, image, or other data structure) smaller groups of connected sub-units, such words, pixels, etc.

each segmented group has in resulting raster (aka partition). is, pixels belonging group have particular id number (e.g., id = 67897), no other pixels outside group have id.

in contrast, classification methods assign class each element, individual pixels or segments. given per-pixel classification, there groups of connected pixels sharing same class, pixels belonging separate groups have same id in classified raster (e.g, id = 8).

there labeling algorithms can assign unique id each group, can derive segmentation (aka partition) classification, cannot derive classification segmentation, don't know (yet) different segments have in common (i.e., have id, don't have class).
